My country is called Kenya. It is situated in the Eastern part of Africa. It is the third largest country in East Africa. It is headed by a president; there are others who help in leading the country. They include: the Prime Minister, the Vice President and ministers among others.
In my country the staple food is maize. Apart from that, people also feed on other foods for example potatoes, bananas, beans and many others. However, maize is the most commonly used. This is because growing of maize is cheap compared to other food species. It is also a major source of energy in people’s bodies.
My country is independent due to the fact that it gained independence in 1963. It is a well-maintained country. The leaders get involved in several social activities. They learn from leaders of other countries and come up with solutions in order to lead the country more efficiently.
In Kenya, elections are held after a period of every five years. New leaders are elected. This activity is conducted secretly and after a period of time, the new leaders are announced and take for example transport, home affairs, justice, education, tourism and others.
In Kenya, there are various activities which take place. These include farming, fishing, tourism and others. These depend on the natural condition of a certain place. For instance, in dry areas farming would not be applicable due to inadequate water supply.
Moreover, Kenya is a peaceful country. Citizens help each other and in this way, unity is maintained. I love my country very much.
